5-week Art Clinic with J. Jordan Bruns
Picasso says, “good artists borrow, great artists steal”. He’s an excellent example of someone who has taken a famous painting and reworked the composition, subject, and color to make it something entirely different. What can we learn from reinventing an old master painting? After selecting our masterpiece to reinvent, we’ll devise a plan to change the painting to fit with our time period and painting style.
This is an intermediate to advanced level Art Clinic.

Class 1) July 12- Lecture: “Artist Painting from Paintings, Francis Bacon and Pope Innocent X”
Exercise: Devise a plan of attack for your painting. Why did you choose this painting to work from? What can you steal?
Class 2) July 19 – Lecture: “Goya’s Third of May” Collecting Sources
Class 3) July 26 – Continue working on your reinvented masterpiece
Class 4) August 2 – Continue working on your reinvented masterpiece
