This class is designed for artists with traditional backgrounds to think abstractly in their work. This class pushes your understanding of composition design, color relationships, and eye movement and promotes using your artistic license. This is an ideal class for artists who want to take their work to a new level. All painting mediums welcome! $10 model fee paid in class.

Class 2) October 1 – Independent work
Class 3) October 8 – Demonstration: Make a representational painting using only black paint – Continue Independent work
Class 4) October 15– Lecture – “Using Grey”
Continue individual work
Class 5) October 22 – Demonstration: Make an abstract painting using only black paint – Continue independent work
Class 6) October 29 – Continue independent work
Class 7) November 5 – Lecture – “Contemporary (living) Women Artists”
Class 8) November 12 – Figure Painting Day (Day 1 of 2)
Class 9) November 19 – Figure Painting Day (Day 2 of 2)

Material List for Abstract Representation
ANY two dimensional color medium such as oil, acrylic, watercolor, or gouache. With the figure days, I suggest using a toned ground (unless you are working in watercolor).
