Basic Principles of Drawing

No Experience Required
Wednesdays 1:00 – 3:30pm

No experience required. Drawing is the foundation to all art forms and this class is a great place to start! Our class will work in a variety of drawing mediums while focusing on principles of drawing such as sighting and measuring, composition, and value. We’ll use our time to draw from landscape, still life and life model.

Fundamentals of Painting

Beginner to Intermediate
Thursdays 9:30 – 12:00pm
The goal of this class is designed to provide a strong foundation for oil painters. The instructor will provide students with a working understanding of composition, building a painting, color theory, and paint application. Students will gain knowledge working from the figure, still life and landscape.

Experimental Drawing

Intermediate to Advanced
Fridays 9:30 – 12:00pm
This course emphasizes the artistic importance of drawing.  Our class will explore a range of drawing methods from both traditional and nontraditional techniques.  We will focus on increasing visual sensitivity, cultivating technical skills, and understanding the steps of building a drawing.

Abstract Representation

Intermediate to Advanced
Fridays 1:00 – 3:30pm
This class is designed for artists to explore abstract ideas.  Learn to use composition, color, and mark making to make your paintings more dynamic and visually pleasing.  Abstract Representation is about the “artistic voice” and encourages new ideas and experimentation.  Open to representational and abstract painters of all mediums.
