This ACO meeting, Mariana will be doing a demonstration of how she uses a gelatin plate to make prints (without using a printing press) simply by using a gel-like plate. Such a plate can be homemade (with real unflavored gelatin!) or commercially prepared (not made with gelatin, although it resembles it). Mariana uses mostly acrylic paints to print onto various kinds of papers. She creates patterns and textures by using found objects, vegetation, stencils or stamps, and combinations of all to design the resulting mono-prints*. She will give a brief overview of her supplies and will demonstrate a few techniques of her process.
