ACO Artist Discussion with Michiko Fuji Fowler

A native of Japan, Michiko Fujii Fowler has lived and painted in the United States since 2008—in San Francisco through 2022 and in Takoma Park, Maryland starting in 2023. Her work is in the permanent collections of the Polk Museum of Art (Florida, USA) and the Saku Museum of Modern Art (Nagano, Japan). In the latter, her Painting on a Wall, Painting on a Wall appeared in the museum’s 30th Anniversary Collection Masterpieces show. She was an artist-in-residence at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris and received the Sokei and the Takazawa Awards from the Sokei Academy of Fine Art & Design in Tokyo.
