10-week Art Clinic with J. Jordan Bruns
This winter, the class will explore Alfred Stieglitz and his circle of artists who exhibited with him at Gallery 291 in New York City during the early 20th century. These incredible abstract painters, including Arthur Dove, Georgia O’Keeffe, Marsden Hartley, and Charles Demuth, were instrumental in nurturing the development of abstract painting. In addition to lectures on these artists and Stieglitz’s group, we’ll delve into WHY their work remains so influential even today and examine how it relates to our own artistic practices. Class Level: intermediate to advanced. Minimum age 14
