Fundamentals of Painting
Beginner to Intermediate
Class Start Date: January 25, 2018 End Date: March 22, 2018
Days: Thursdays, Time: 9:30 – 12:00pm
The goal of this class is to provide a strong foundation for oil and acrylic painters by providing students with a working understanding of composition, paint application, and color theory. Students will gain knowledge from working from the figure, still life and landscape.
This class is for oil or acrylic painters. There are separate suggested supply lists for each below. If you are unsure which to choose between, I recommend beginning with oil paint.
Age Range: 16 and up

Class 6) March 1 – Landscape Painting, from photo
Class 7) March 8- Lecture: Simple Proportions- Clothed Model ($5 model fee)
Class 8) March 15 – Lecture: Flesh Tones- Clothed Model ($5 model fee)
Class 9) March 22 – Finish Paintings Day – Bring in any of the paintings that were not finished in class to work from using landscape location or photo references
